"Short notice for appointments, antiquated systems"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I knew I was due to have an ultrasound scan at 28 weeks, but by 27 weeks I still hasn't received an appointment. I called up to find out when it would be and was told it was booked for the following Tuesday (8 days later) but they couldn't tell me the time of the appointment yet - I would have to wait until the letter came through in 4 days' time, or I could call in 2 days' time to see if they could give me the time. What kind of system is this? ? ?

Please sort out a more user-friendly and modern way of allocating appointments and informing patients of them.
