I have been diagnosed with Ankylosing spondylitis for 10 years. I have been very active and as such became a Scuba Instructor who was able to pass indepth medicals, my condition was in remission for 7 years thanks to the Lancashire Rheumatology team. Since moving to Wiltshire I was put on the wrong consultants clinic and given another appointment for 3 months after to see the correct consultant. The 'correct' consultant took me off my medication as my scores went down, due to a fall a week before, to induce a very painful flare and put me through an MRI. I explained my displeasure at this and advised it would deteriorate quickly, meaning I wouldnt be able to work. I am 3 weeks in to my 12 weeks without meds and can barely walk or eat due to the pain which means I am unable to work and the consultant is not concerned! Bad service, inconsiderate doctor. All this because the doctor did not want to request my medical records and blames me for 'moving consultants'. I moved across the country for work, not due to my health! Very displeased at this.
