"Thank you for my mum's care at wishaw general hospital"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / General Medicine (Wards 5 & 8)

(as a relative),

Mum was admitted to wishaw hospital Lanarkshire & sadly died there. During this time, she was in various wards, mainly wards 13 & laterly ward 8. The staff were wonderful looking after mum & making her stay so comfortable for her, which was a comfort to us as her family.

The staff always took time to discuss her illness, treatment & proposed plans - we were never made to feel that we were being "pests" when asking to speak to staff. On the weekend that mum died, the nurse in charge, Wendy, took so much time to speak to us & mum, to ensure we fully understood what was happening & determine what mum wanted & she and her staff took wonderful care of mum (and us).

We so often hear negative stories about the NHS Scotland- but you should be so proud of your staff in this case. Thank you so much for caring for our dear mum.

For now, I wanted to praise the staff at wishaw general hospital.

Dear Annielum

Thank you very much for getting in touch and for your comments in relation to the care your mother received whilst an inpatient here at Wishaw General Hospital. Please accept my sincere sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your mother.

Your very positive comments are very welcome and I will ensure they are fed back to the staff, who work so hard in ensuring the care we deliver to patients is of a high standard, as well as being compassionate to the families of our patients. I have no doubt they will be delighted for the feedback and particularly those you have personally named.
