"A&E treatment at ERI"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / General Medicine

(as the patient),

Arrived in ERI A&E with rapid heartbeat and feeling quite ill. I was kept in overnight in acute ward station 5. Every single member of staff was professional, caring and respectful. I was feeling much better in the evening and overnight I witnessed some of the work the staff on evening and night shift do (Connie, Dean, Katie sorry I can't remember the other nurses' names). They were so lovely with the very frail elderly people who were distressed and in pain. I really cannot praise them highly enough. To me they were treating patients as they would their own family. The staff in the morning were also lovely. The young man (young Marti Pellow with tattoos? ! ! ) was a breath of fresh air - and so kind and respectful to the distressed elderly lady on the ward. I was very fortunate that I was given the all clear to go home, but I am so comforted to know that if I, or any of my loved ones end up in ERI in future, we will be in safe and compassionate hands. Thank you.

Dear carrotsdalkeith

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences when you were admitted to the Emergency Department of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. I was really pleased to read how you found the staff to be professional, caring and respectful to the patients that they were caring for. I was pleased to hear that you were given the all clear so that you could go home the following morning.

I have shared your kind words with the team and who I am sure will be delighted with your feedback.

Thank you again.

Jeannette
