"MRI skin burn"

About: Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre

(as the patient),

I attended Beatson for MRI earlier this week for head/ear scan. By the next day my facial cheeks were burning as if I had sunburn, the left cheek is swollen and very red. I have had MRI before but never this reaction.

I saw my GP but she said she had no knowledge of skin burns with MRI and suggested I just apply cream. My face feels very hot and burning sensation and continues to be swollen like bad sunburn. I wore normal clothes for the scan but no metal.

Should I be concerned and will this burning go away or cause problems?
