My daughter accidently trapped her finger in a car door. Once I had assessed her finger I managed to get her to the minor injuries unit at the Bransholme Health Centre on Saturday morning.
I was met by a very friendly receptionist, you took down all the details. I was then directed into the treatment room with my daughter and seen by the Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP).
The ECP assessed my daughter's finger and bandaged it up appropriately. My daughter was very nervous about attending the unit, and more nervous when the ECP was looking at the finger. The service received as a whole was very good. I was a little disappointed that the ECP failed to reassure my daughter and talk her through the procedure - he didn't seem to engage well and this added to my daughter's distress slightly.
I am very pleased however with how quickly I was seen.
