"Information about hospital medication"

About: Leicester General Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

When my partner was having her baby at leicester general before I was there she was getting given tablets like smarties they said there was 2 antibiotics and different pain killers not at any time have I or my partner or my family ever been provided with information about what tablet I'm getting no information about the benefits and side effects when I challenged a member of hospital staff about this I was told that my partner should of asked for it my reply was well when you go to a pharmacist to get tablets or even a general shop tablet information is provided and you don't have to ask so why oh why should a hospital be any different it's not just they don't provide the leaflet about medication they don't even speak to you about it I believe there needs to be real change within all hospitals.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback.

We are really sorry to hear about your recent experience at the General Hospital. We would like to look in to your concerns in more detail, so if you are happy to do so, please email your partner's name, address, DOB and hospital number to Ann Buckley, Maternity Matron at: Ann.a.Buckley@uhl-tr.nhs.uk, and we can investigate this further.

Kind regards,
