"I was treated promptly at A&E ..."

About: University Hospital Of Hartlepool

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was treated promptly at A&E and my damaged foot was cleaned, disinfected and dressed by the nurse who arranged for an x-ray of my right foot. This was done and it was apparent that the metatarsal of my big toe was fractured. I was referred to the bone clinic for further x-rays abd my foot wasdressed and bandaged.

What could be improved

The report to my doctor from the consultant was not a true account of my accident My foot did not come off my foot rest as the result of a spasm but was due to the inside wheel of my wheel chair dropping into a pothole in the road as I explained in the accident report. There was crushing of my right foot under the platform and the lip of the pothole. There wasskin break and my sock was soaked in blood.I was certainly not happy with the consultant's explanation and my wife was disgusted that he did not look at my foot and dismissed us. My wife was convinced that the x-ray pictures of my foot were not the ones we saw the previous day

Anything else?

I have Commented on the innaccuracies in the consultant's report to my solicitors and await their advice.
