"Rude and unhelpful staff"

About: Newham General Hospital / Maternity care

Worst hospital I ever heard of. One star is a lot for the service you get there. My sister in low, recently gave birth in this hospital and she did not have a plesant experience. Her waters broke at 3am and half an hour later her contractions started. She went to the hospital at 5am and she was dilated 3cm, she was asked to walk arround for one hour then come back. One hour later when she went back, the person on reception was very rude and said to her to go home and come back later. She went back to the hospital at 10am and if my brother would not have asked to speak to a supervisor, my sister in low would have had to wait in the waiting room until one of the staff would decide to do something about it. During delivery she had a cut and now she has an infection. I went with her to the hospital, as advised by the midwife as she needed to be seen by a doctor. After 4 hours wait a doctor checked her and gave her antibiotics. The doctor said to her to go back for a check up after 5 days. She went there yesterday and again she was met by very rude staff and asked her what is she doing there, she is not supposed to be there. Later on she went to see the midwife and she again advised my sister in low to go and see a doctor. Today my sister in low and my brother went again to the hospital and waited from 11am to 4pm. At 4pm someone said to them they cannot find the doctor. I mean, to be there for so many hours with a week old baby is not very nice. My brother asked to speak to a manager and they said there is not manager/supervisor on a sunday. This is ridiculous, they did not go to the hospital for fun. They had to leave the hospital without a check up, they spent money on a taxi two days in a row for nothing. This is really worring me, i am 39 weeks pregnanat and I am supposed to give birth in the same hospital. I am panicking, i cannot sleep at night thinking about how is going to be. I would like someone to contact me, because what ever is happening in this hospital is not normal. I do not want to give birth in this hospital, but apparently there is not much of a choice.
