I was referred for cataract consultation and was originally advised, quite correctly, that I was not yet suitable. This was fully explained and very clearly and sensitively advised. I was then re-referred 18 months later and deemed suitable for surgery. The whole process was efficient at each stage and exceptionally well carried out. All staff was helpful and very friendly. The surgeon and the team made me feel at ease during the process. I am relatively young to have had this surgery and it has been totally life-changing. I can drive safely, see people's faces and have better vision than I have had for many years. I was the assessed as needing my other eye operated on and this is again very welcome and I look forward to it. I cannot praise the hospital, staff and the surgeon enough for the eye-sight I have regained. I had no pain or discomfort whatsoever. and the change in vision was immediate with further improvement as the eye settled in the next couple of weeks. Amazing! I have a new world of colours that I don't ever remember knowing existed. Five months later I am still fully appreciating what I have every day.
