What I liked
the physical surroundings - nice clean ward - pleasant look-out for patients.
What could be improved
Promises about treatment/test dates are continually broken again & again without explanation. The wheels grind so slowly in this hospital - most places want to get patients home asap - Castle Hill gives the impression that any old time will do - it won't, especially when people are ill. COMMUNICATION between departments/Drs/nurses/porters/ &etc on a scale of 0-10?? I would give 2. Nursing care is sporadic depending on which person is on duty, Sister is never seen, HCA's are the best communicators & carers- I was amazed the other day to find an HCA taking the lead whilst undertaking a procedure with my husband & quite frankly I was glad that he did so, as he had more common sense. I write these comments as a qualified nurse.

Attractive surroundings unfortunately do not make for holistic care
