"If you have a system of monitoring ..."

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved

If you have a system of monitoring the patents as they are waiting, it was not obvious i accompanied my wife who had been referred to you by her doctor we had to wait over five hours before a doctor saw my wife .

I am aware that you are not seen as you arrive and that serious cases coming in take presidents, but what we experienced was ridiculous, my wife kept saying you must be patient, but i was hearing obvious none emergency cases being dealt with and no one came near us only three times to enquire who we where, i eventually moved out to the waiting area on re entering to find out if my wife was being seen to, i overheard a conversation between one of the nurses and what i took to be the sister, that as the case history s where bought in they where being placed on the top of the pile, hence the reason we where kept so long i made a comment to the sister who said i shouldn't swear, believe me what i said was mild to what i, thought i had by this time been working 13 hours without a stop or food so it is not only the doctors and nurses that work hard

This is the first time i have ever made a complaint of any kind to anyone my work is in the service industry and it entails making sure the customer gets what he wants when he wants it, so you can imagine my rage when treated like this, i know everyone is doing there best but there was something very sadly wrong here and it must be rectified.
