"Eye department"

About: Warrington Hospital / Ophthalmology

6. Months ago I attended warrington hospital eye dept at the request of my optician to have laser treatment to both eyes. My eyes were inspected and I was told yes they both needed laser treatment. On attending for the treatment it was wait wait wait, both eyes were again examined. Eventually met an ignorant laser operator who carried out the procedure and after a long wait told I could go. There was no aftercare, information , instructions. The nurse was not interested. I have rang the hospital twice to get a date for the second eye but told to wait 18 weeks. The 18 weeks is up so I have rang to see what is happening only to be told that I am not on the computer system. I must go back to the optician and start again. What a joke.

I would advise anyone going to the eye department to take anticeptic wipes with them as the floor, chairs etc in the department are filthy, you can scrape the dirt off the arms of the chairs.they have not been cleaned in years.basically the staff have no interest in you or your care. The admin is a disgrace.
