My husband suffered a cardiac arrest in July 2016 and was taken to PCH A&E initially. Care here was excellent with staff keeping us informed of his condition and treatment at all times. It may have helped that this happened int he early hours on a Friday morning so there were few patients around. However, as the morning moved on we continued to be updated and tests carried out. By lunchtime my husband had been moved to the CCU. He stayed there for 10 days until he was moved to UWC Heath. The care he received in PCH was outstanding and all staff, doctors, nurses, ward assistants, cleaners etc were great. The ward and bathrooms were kept spotlessly clean. We were informed of tests and results as soon as possible and staff went out of their way to ensure that my husband was kept safe and comfortable. Equipment on the ward looked in very good condition and modern, with my husband being given a telemetry unit so that he wouldn't be confined to bed. Food wasn't brilliant, there was choice and he could pick what he wanted but he had little appetite anyway.
"Excellent cardio care"
