Earlier this month I suffered a sudden, disabling stroke, and passed out for a short while, but had sufficient time to recognise that I was in serious trouble. The Ambulance dispatchers for the South West Ambulance Service immediately deployed a crew, who were with me very quickly. Being fully aware of my surroundings and situation, I can only describe the way these guys dealt with me, in this most FRIGHTENING predicament, as absolutely 'wonderful'.
I am SO grateful for their care, consideration and sheer professionalism in assessing me, getting me out of my house (which has difficult egress) and transporting me quickly to on-going care at hospital in that first magic hour. I know what I owe them, and they are my heroes!
So, my sincerest thanks to every member of the ambulance service involved in saving me on that truly awful night. Good job!
"Those magnificent men in their ambulances...."
