I was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering with chest pain, I was attended to on arrival and the medical staff stated I was being treated for a suspected heart attack. I answer all questions asked. I was not given any clot busting drug! but was injected with morphine. After I was stabilised I was transferred to the A + E assessment ward where I was given further blood test and in the early hours of the morning I was transferred to ward A4 (Gastroenterology ward) which I was very unhappy about as I was a heart patient and upsetting more was that the consultant I was under (specialty: General medicine) was not a cardiologist. I stated to one of the doctors that came to my bedside informing me I had had a heart attack that I was under a Consultant Cardiologist at Northern General Hospital and could I please be transferred there- to this I had no response. On discharge 3 days later I was sent home without any information regarding my condition or what services a heart attack patient can obtain.
