"Amazing Nurses on C2 During a Traumatic Time..."

About: Whiston Hospital / Respiratory medicine

Our mother was admitted to ward C2 around September 11, 2016. Our mother had idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and was doing very poorly. After doing a scan the staff found that she also had cancer which was in her lungs and liver. The staff realized that in our mother's very weakened condition it would only be a matter of time.

For as long as our mother was able to speak and was aware she constantly told us how very kind and considerate the nurses were - every single one! We also experienced the same treatment. In addition to doing everything they could for our mother, the nurses were always willing to listen to our worries/fears/concerns and took time to explain everything to us. Indeed, they always welcomed our questions! These people were angels during a very difficult time for our mother and our family. After our mother passed away they continued to go above and beyond to help us as we sat with our mother and said goodbye.

Our parents have lived in Liverpool all their lives. I have lived in the USA for many years and have been with a number of friends who have passed away in hospital due to cancer. I have never seen wonderful nurses and care as I witnessed at Whiston Hopsital on ward C2.Thank you nurses! Thank you!
