"Hospital stay"

I have just spent 6 days on ward 20. The nursing staff especially the HCA's were excellent dispite them being extremely busy, and also the care and information from the doctors.I do think management should look into the food that is served to the patients, on the whole it was disgusting and most times not nutritious to recovering patients. I had to rely on relatives to bring food in for me, I should have been on a light diet, but could only have what was on the menu which was not suitable so I went without, also I am vegetarian but was not offered vegetarian food. Another thing that needs to be looked at is the noise and lack of privacy due to the long visiting hours which did not allow any peace to recovering patients, there is not enough space between beds and you feel the visitors to the next bed are almost on top of you. The care from other departments has been excellent, it was disappointing to have a hospital stay that gave excellent care but not the facilities to aid recovery.
