"gynaecology department review-very poor service"

I have been treated for my first pregnancy at APH under consultant care and I am very very disappointed by the service provided. To start with my thyroid profile was never done although I was a hypothyroid patient until I went to my GP and got it sorted. I was always high risk but was informed on having aspirin at 20 week approx. 20 weeks anomaly scan showed talipes in my baby and referral to the feral medicine was to be done but the findings were missed by the speciality doctors and no referral was offered. To my surprise the consultant admitted that the findings were missed at 32 weeks and offered amniocentesis at that point where it is too late. Me and my partner had a very very stressful week until the second opinion from the fetal med unit at women's hospital. Not only this there is an immensely long waiting period at review appointments , and when you are seen the only emphasis is on a question are you well, well then why do I need to see you? On my latest appointment at 36 weeks while I was being told on the phone that it is a review and a scan when I came to maternity unit the reception confirmed it is only clinical review which costed me my half day's salary as I m a self employed person. There is lack of communication in between departments and we have been bombarded with letters and calls for appointments . When you call to confirm appointments nobody has proper information. We are very very upset with the negligence by the department and poor service of the hospital , it being a really precious first baby for us in 8 years of being married and trying for one!! I do not reccomend this hospital for obs and gynaecology department .we have been put through an awful amount of stress especially towards the end.
