"Cardiology by-pass"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital / Cardiology

When you've never been in hospital before and then you find yourself in a cardiology unit and having a by-pass, you might be extremely apprehensive and anxious. Not so at the Royal Sussex County Hospital's cardiology Floor 7A department. The medical and social care of the patient is paramount to this phenomenally united and co-ordinated team - from consultants to cleaners, anaesthetists to nurses, ward assistants to nurses to caterers to physiotherapists. I had a double by-pass and was on the ward for just six days. Okay, I now have a three month recovery but I have a life - thanks to these wonderful women and men in Brighton.

Dear Mr Whitham

Thank you very much for your kind comments expressing your gratitude.

I have passed on your message to the Cardiology Department, it really is encouraging for our staff when they receive thanks from patients and relatives for the care they have provided, and it is always very much appreciated.

Best wishes

Hannah Pacifico
