I had an echocardiogram to check my metallic heart valve on the 5th September. This showed possible blood clots around the valve. The Consultant decided it would be safe to check this more closely with a Transoephagael Echocardigram which allows the sensor to get very close to the heart via a tube through the mouth. Yesterday I had this procedure and can confirm it is a bit of an ordeal! However the two tecniician medical staff carrying out the procedure were excellent in explaining what was going to happen, keeping me calm before hand, then taking great care and consideration throughout the procedure. Afterwards, the results were fully explained to me, and luckily it was good news. I was then takien to recovery by two nursing staff who were very friendly and extremely attentive. All in all I felt I had to praise the Consultant and all the team, for such excellent care.
"Professional staff."
