I have been in and out of Southmead since late 2015 and through 2016 I was suffering with a mix of lower GI problems. Been unfortunately through a number of big operations. But after one operation I was left with two post-op hernias, one weighing nearly 14llbs I was later told, but It was decided that it was to dangerous to correct the hernia, untill I lost weight by undergoing underwent Baractric Surgery. But whilst waiting for the surgery, I was rushed into emergency surgery, the hernia had strangulated. My Surgeon was brilliant. I was told it was going to be touch and go having the op. But there wasn't any other choice. Well my life was saved by the surgeon. And the aftercare was brilliant. I can't thank all on ward 34b lead by the acting ward sister and their team of caring nurses. I will never forget them Also the wonderful Baractric Surgeon.and all of Bareatric Team. What a great and considerate team they all are. A very professional team but always with a sense of understanding and compassion. Because of them my life is now worth living. I will never forget all the kindness and professional help.
"My life was saved."
