An incredibly brilliant experience overall. I was seen initially on Ward 17 on 9/9/16 ( within 48 hours of the GP referral).

The source of my months of debilitating back pain was diagnosed, and treatment options discussed with the amazing

Consultant Neurosurgeon and their excellent team.

As I was fearful of surgery I chose the conservative option which took place under local anaesthetic there and then.

Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem but I was seen in clinic by the consultant, again immediately after the GP referral. Surgery was discussed and agreed and took place 24 hours ( yes, 24 hours!) later. The next day, 23/9/16,

I walked out of the RVI feeling like a new person. My quality of life has been transformed and I can't praise the Department of Neurosurgery and the fabulous NHS staff more highly. Thank you all so much. Sylvia Lockett.
