"Fantastic A&E visit."

About: Weston General Hospital / Accident and emergency

How nice to be able to praise an A&E Dept..

I had occasion to visit on Saturday morning at about 11:45-12:00.

The sign outside said a 4 hour wait, so my expectations were set low before even entering the department.

I had dislocated my shoulder, so the prospect of a four hour wait, was less than appealing!.

After booking in at reception I took a seat in the waiting area..

Not three minutes later, my name was called, and I was ushered into an office.

Two minutes of detail taking, before a Nurse Practitioner came in and escorted me to the Major injuries Dept.

Five minutes later,

I was waiting for an X-Ray, and ten minutes after that, I was having a sling put on.....

In all probably no more than 40 minutes had gone by.....

Not once did I have to wait, or have any concerns about staff standing round, apparently doing little else than catching up on the gossip...

Everyone I saw was polite, courteous, professional..

Well Done Weston A&E..

Showing the rest of the less well run Depts, how it's done!...

Thank you for your kind comments regarding our A&E department during what must have been a very painful experience for you. We always aim to treat the more seriously injured or unwell patients quickly, and we're glad you weren't kept waiting too long. We will pass on your comments to our staff in A&E and hope you are making a good recovery.
