"Children's Admission Unit & Eye Casualty..."

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

My Son attended eye casualty on Wednesday 28th Sept 2016 and was admitted to the children's admission unit. The Staff at both the eye cas and the ward were fantastic. My son has autism and they went above and beyond for him and me! It ended up that my son wouldn't stay in hospital so I took him back and forth every 8 hours for his iv antibiotics. On the CAU the nurses were fantastic with him. They made sure everything was done in my sons time, gave him choices when the situation allowed with his treatment and even introduced the nurse that would be giving him next dose of medicine later that day. We were initially greeted at CAU by a nurse and a student nurse who was shadowing them, they were fantastic!!! They went way above and beyond the call of duty, but I feel they would just say they were "doing their job". They were fantastic with my son and whilst he was very scared, all the other Staff on CAU were just truly outstanding. The ward was spotless, warm and welcoming. Certainly not a scary looking place to be. The Doctors were brill too. My son had to go to eye casualty every day too and the receptionists, nurses and doctors were fantastic as well. They explained everything, was very very good with my son and highly professional. To summarise, Both Eye Casulaty and CAU are both of exceptional high standards and care is second to none. I seriously don't think you'd get better care if you could afford to go private. I'm so proud of our NHS. Thankyou!!!!!

I'd really appreciate it if you could make both CAU & Eye Casualty aware of my review and gratitude. Sincere Thanks, from one very grateful mum and a healthier son :)
