"Thank you for making a stressful event bearable"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Surgery (wards 19, 20, 24, 26 &29)

(as the patient),

I was admitted for day surgery. Staff were very pleasant, reassuring (as I suffer from extreme anxiety) in fact I was allowed to be first on the operation list due to this.

I did feel there were very many members of staff involved from the nurse who checked me in, to the theatre nurse who took me to theatre, then the anaesthetic nurse, plus porters etc. all introduced themselves, and all very VERY pleasant and cheery.

After op, I was taken to ward 32, where the nursing staff were super efficient and sensitive to my anxiety problems. Even spending time to sit with me through a panic attack. I cannot thank them enough for making a very stressful event bareable

Hi Hagen

Thanks a lot for taking the time to share your experience and feedback about day surgery and ward 32 at the RAH. I appreciate these times are difficult enough for people never mind with extreme anxiety to factor in and am so glad you felt supported and cared for when you needed it most. The teams will be really pleased to hear this as they do work very hard to meet each patients needs. I'll be sure to feedback to them all. In the meantime, do not hesitate to get in touch with us again should you need help and support in our system in the future.

Warm wishes

Jacki
