"Poor Service"

About: Furness General Hospital / Ophthalmology

The claim that first appointments are given within 37 days is untrue.

I waited 16 weeks for an appointment and was only given one because I phoned and asked if I was actually on the waiting list.

The first consultation could not be completed because the nurse who does the measuring for cataract treatment was off sick.

I was told I would hear within 'a week or two' - am still waiting 3 weeks later.

My cataracts are getting worse so I should really no longer be driving and they are affecting my ability to carry out my job.

Am beginning to despair about the situation.
