I attended the Respiratory Clinic today and my visit there has raised several questions.
1) My appointment letter stated quite clearly that I was to attend the Outpatients Dept, but having walked all the way from the car park, I was told that it was being held in the Shrodells unit. I then faced another walk from the portacabins to the unit. I found this quite a strain as I suffer from C.O.P.D and asthma. Please can you explain why the letter did not make the venue clear? There was no signage to assist and the route was quite complicated.
2) When I arrived at the unit I found a car park directly outside for staff only. Why is it not possible to swap some of those spaces for the staff with spaces in the main car park and designate them for the unit. For someone with breathing problems it's a very long walk from the car park to the unit.
3) Would it not be possible for those needing chest Xrays to have them taken in the A&E Xray department? Thereby eliminating two flights of stairs.
