"dont rate this hospital"

About: Russells Hall Hospital / Maternity

I gave birth to my son 8th june 2015, , my waters broke and I had no pain so I was induced hours later,,, I wasn't offered any pain relief, it was so, painful,

I had to ask for pethidine,

I told the midwive how much it hurt they felt my belly while I was contracting and said it wasn't that bad, I begged them to examine me they said not till 24 hours,, I kept on, I have a high pain threshold,

I knew this cant be the start, in the end they examined me I was 4cm,,, they took me to delivery, was monitored there for 45 minutes, then examined again to be told my son was breech, had to have an emergency cesarean section, 2 midwives felt my belly and didnt know this,

Thank you, Kimberley, for taking the time to post feedback about your experience. We are sorry you feel disappointed by the care you received in June 2015. Our staff are committed to offering women a positive and fulfilling experience during pregnancy and birth and we are sorry if we fell short of those standards on this occasion.

We have passed your comments on to the matron and lead midwives for our Maternity Department who will share with their teams.
