"I have, hopefully, just finished ..."

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

I have, hopefully, just finished the acute phase of treatment for retinal tearing under the care of the Eye Hospital & clinic centred at the HRI.

From the initial diagnosis and consequent emergency operation, to the end of the follow-up procedures, I could not have wished for more professional and sympathetic care. The skill and promptness of the surgeon and their team almost certainly saved the sight in my eye for which I am eternally grateful. In addition, the thoroughness, kindness & empathy shown by everyone afterwards, both at the eye hospital and clinic, was superb.

It is all too common nowadays to bemoan the state of care under the NHS but, at Hull, we should be justifiably proud of our Ophthalmology team.

What could be improved

Nothing!
