"nothing"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

nothing

What could be improved

nurses learning dignity, and communication skills

Anything else?

I went in with chest pains and felt very degraded and like a piece of raw meat. Staff stood around chewing gum. There was no Infection control taking place. The cubicle I was in had dirty blood stained cotton wall balls on the floor and the bed had not been cleaned. There was no dignity for any of the patients in A&E I was only spoken to on intervention and was discharged 10 mins before the four hour deadline. I have been in care a long time and have never felt so disappointed in this hospital and the staff. Communication is very poor and only seems to happen between staff members in the department.

We are saddened by your comments after your recent visit to the Accident and Emergency Department; we have passed your comments on to the Matron of the department, who will be taking up the issues with the staff.

The hospital takes infection control very seriously along with the privacy and dignity of our patients’. If you wish to follow up the concerns that you have raised, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01384 244420.
