My nan attended the Imaging/X ray department and had an bone density scan done. She is an 77 year old woman who has rheumatoid arthritis and she was then expected to et onto a standstill table. Because she was unable to get onto this on her own she was then asked to step onto a step to then get onto the table and then after she was unable to have the full scan.
after that she got back in her wheelchair with the support of the nurse/member of staff in charge. But because the member of staff rushed her and didn't look at her legs that they caught her leg on the wheelchair and she has a very big bruise on her leg. Its al the least 5 cm long and 3 cm wide and very black. I wanted to write this to tell you and others that the lack of care for the elderly is unbelievable ! Just because there old and fragile doesn't mean they should be treated with lack of respect and dignity. And the staff need to take in consideration that they need time and patience.
"Lack of respect these days !"
