Great service within maternity by staff struggling with limited resources to doctors. Only detrimental aspects were the design of the MAU, where we and several other patients could clearly hear what really should be confidential information...and smoking! As a smoker myself I find it absolutely disgusting that no one seems to care about smoking immediately outside the Kensington building, which detracts from the professional behaviour and conduct of the staff inside. Aside from these minor niggles, would like to commend the staff, particularly our student midwife who demonstrated a caring, professional, and knowledgeable attitude throughout and who is a credit to the department.
