"Emergency admission"

On 6th June 2016 I was admitted to ward L17 of Leeds General Infirmary after being unable to walk. A very detailed review of my symptoms took place, very few of which seemed related to me but it made sense to the doctors looking after me. After a battery of tests and loads of blood samples I was diagnosed with achalasia and nerve damage following a prolonged deficit of vitamins. During my time on the ward I was treated with respect by all members of staff whether doctors, nurses or housekeeping staff. I cannot speak highly enough of the care I received from the nurses and wished I could have appeared more appreciative at the time. However I have come to realise that I have got away from my experience with this condition very lightly, having found out from the Internet that others have not been so fortunate. Consequently I am very grateful for the attention and care that I received on ward L17 and wish everyone there all the best in their futures endeavours.
