"Newberry centre staff horrible"

I came into the newberry Center voluntary and a heavy smoker, I was aloud ground leave to go out and smoke then the nurses stopped letting me out because they didn't want their boss to catch them meanwhile letting another patient out to smoke! It was awful. All the staff were rude and opinionated about with parents they liked it felt like I was getting judged by them all the time. The staff are so judgemental towards the patients and bring their own personal problems into work

We work hard to make sure everyone who accesses our services has the best experience possible. We understand how important our staff are to supporting people who use our services and take seriously the development and training of our staff so they can offer the best service possible.

With the issue regarding smoking it is not against the law for a young person to smoke however our organisation adheres to the smoke free ban that is a legal binding national agreement.

We encourage young people who use our services to contact us particularly if they feel they have had a poor experience so we can learn from same and improve our services. We do work with young people and their parents and guardians collaboratively and your feedback is important to us.

If you would like to discuss your concerns further we would be more than willing to meet with you. If you would like to do this please contact Corinne Aspel Senior Nurse Patient and Carer Experience on 01913333566 or by e mail at corinne.aspel@nhs.net
