On Tuesday 20th September I had a planned Bowel Scope Screening Test, invited by virtue of the fact I was 55 this year. The whole experience was made very easy fro me.
All the instructions and information sent to meet from the Bowel Screening Programme were absolutely clear and straight forward to follow and understand.
Parking was very reasonable just £2.50 ( warning, it took 22 minutes to get a space and the pay station was not taking card payments, so extra time should be allowed by patients in case the car park is very busy and change taken for the pay station )
From the first member of staff with whom I had contact, at reception, and throughout my entire visit, which was only just over an hour from start to finish, everyone was absolutely lovely. Friendly, kind, approachable, understanding and very careful to demystify the process and put me at my ease giving me as much dignity as can be granted given the nature of the appointment !! Every where looked absolutely spotless and the appointment timing was just as I had been advised, no waiting around.
My heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team who made my visit 100% endurable which had not been my expectation. I feel so very privileged that I live in a country where such excellent health care is given free. Long live the NHS
