"Teacher with injured pupil"

About: Bassetlaw Hospital / Accident and emergency

I brought one of my pupils ( not for the first time!) to A and E with a badly dislocated finger (basketball injury). The receptionist was extremely friendly and put him at ease. Although we waited for about 20 minutes with no movement from the waiting area, when we were called in the action taken from there was swift and efficient. The emergency nurse was excellent and clearly explained what would happen. As the pupil is Chinese they made sure he understood what treatment would be required. We initially went for an X Ray and then back to the nurse who administered nerve blocking injections and again, explained clearly the whole procedure.

They took time to ensure he was ready for them to relocate the joint and accomplished this with ease and pain free. We then went for another X Ray to ensure all was OK. I would like to thank the receptionist, and especially the nurse, for their professionalism but more for their compassion and efficiency.
