The reception staff are very unhelpful. First of all, they are rude over the phone, they appear inpatient and irritated that you would dare phone them. Today, i phoned and asked for a repeat prescription, the receptionist told me she had never taken prescription requests over the phone. I can confirm that on several occasions i have requested a prescription over the phone without any problems. The receptionist then goes onto day they cannot give me an appointment for a prescription and tells me the medication I need will not give withdrawal symptoms if stopped taking suddenly. So is the receptionist a doctor? Because I do know about this medication and I also know it's actually dangerous to stop taking suddenly. Also, why I need an appointment is confidential, I should not have to justify my reason for seeing a doctor to a receptionist I don't know. There are other things too, once i went in to pick up a prescription, i was cwry to unwell, and as I stood waiting to be seen, the receptionist was actually gossiping with a patient, they clearly knew one another. I wouldn't have minded but this went on for up tp 5 mins. The staff there just don't seem to know what they are doing, change the rules when it suits them and seem to think they are doctors just because they work at the surgery! It'd just wrong. I once went in there and saying they were having a party, took neay 10 mins to be soon. Really, its so bad, I think they all need retraining because they clearly lack any kind of understanding regarding patient confidentiality.
