"Long waiting times for appointments"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Ear, Nose and Throat

Since first visit to gp it has been over 6months and still no closer to getting sorted.appointments for scans have months waiting time.notification of appointment none existent if I hadn't phoned I wouldn't have known about appointment and would be classed as a no show. Have seen specialist who again has requested further scan and ultrasound, phoned hospital two weeks after specialist request was made ,was told would have to wait again for a further two weeks for appointment date to be given then would have to wait yet more weeks to actually get scan etc done. Is this the way our nhs has gone it's no good telling someone they have a problem then leave them hanging, worrying and scared for months on end !

I am so sorry to hear about this - it all seems very protracted.

Please would you contact PALS (the Patient Advice and Liaison Service) so that they can look into all this for you to see what has been going wrong and to see if they can get you an appointment more swiftly.

You can either email at ekh-tr.PALS@nhs.net or telephone 01227 783145 or 01227 864314 (you may have to leave a message on the answerphone).

Please accept our sincere apologies for the distress this must be causing you.
