"Ward 15 - couldn't have been better"

I was admitted to Ward 15 for a hip operation in February 2016 and every one of the hospital staff involved with my care were brilliant. I was nervous at first as I'd never had any operations in the past so wasn't sure what to expect turns out the not knowing was the issue. The nurses on duty were fantastic and never stopped for a second. Everyone on duty that day were polite and well mannered and put me at ease, when you have the surgeon then anaesthetist come and talk you through your procedure it really helps, so does having a porter joke with you: hard to be nervous when the porter is asking for their taxi fare for wheeling you round into theatre :-) Anyway the procedure went fine, the aftercare was brilliant and the chief nurse on duty was fantastic (but they were all great). My partner also says it was 5* care and they kept him informed of my progress and told him when I was out of theatre to put his mind at rest. Overall just a massive thank you and a well done to Ward 15 staff, if I need to have the same surgery again at Wansbeck I am going to be so much more at ease!
