"lung function and sleep services"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

I am disgusted at the wait times.

Having been told by my consultant that I stop breathing at night and that all of the multitude of health problems are due to this, I now have to wait 2 months to get a machine so that i can sleep.

When I explained that the consultant had put in a form so I could get an urgent machine due to the fact my job (ironically I am a nurse) is being affected by this, I was told they cant do anything and it has nothing to do with them.

Surely allowing someone to breathe at night should be a higher priority! Especially as the wait times to see the consultant to get the diagnosis is already 2-3 months and the time frame for seeing positive changes once you have a machine is 3-6 months.

Thanks for getting in touch. I am sorry to hear about the long wait you are experiencing for the machine to help you sleep. In order for me to look into this to understand the cause of the delay, I will require some additional information from you. Please do call me directly on 0115 9691169 ext. 75031 or email me on helen.gregory@nuh.nhs.uk and we will look into quickly for you.

Kind regards,

Helen Gregory.

I’ve looked into this further since your original message. NUH doesn’t currently have any delays or waits for sleep machines. With that in mind it seems likely that you are a patient at the Treatment Centre, which while located on the QMC campus, is managed by Circle. Should you wish to contact them directly you can do so by emailing their PALS team on pals.nottingham@circlepartnership.co.uk

Kind regards,

Helen Gregory.
