"Superb care in Orthopaedics"

I had a hip replacement op on 13 July 2016. I cannot praise any of them highly enough. From my first consultation to the post-op call from the ward to check on my recovery the care was exemplary. The surgeon was kind, considerate, professional and extremely efficient. I felt confidence in the success of my op in their hands from the start. On the day of the op their team talked me through the process in a calm and unhurried manner, answering all my daft question with ease and humour, making me feel I was the only patient they had that day. I do not take anaesthetic very well but the anaesthetist was lovely and put me at ease immediately. Once on Sarah ward post op care was excellent and when I went home and e-mailed a Sister with a query about wound care their response was quick and informative. 6 weeks after the op the ward rang to check on my recovery. All in all I cannot rate my experience highly enough. I would not hesitate to recommend Guys and my surgeon, in particular. This is how the NHS should be. Thank you
