My elderly mother was admitted to RPH with various issues and spent 2 months in hospital under 3 consultants, gynie, medical and renal.
On discharge we were told her kidneys were failing and during her stay had a couple of episodes of high potassium needing a transfusion. She was supposed to have a follow up appointment. No appointment has been forthcoming despite her GP stating she should have specialist renal care.
I had tremendous difficulty getting to speak to anyone from renal during her hospital stay. I was disgusted, it felt like she was just left to rot. The gynie consultant tried his best to get done one from renal to take responsibility for my mums care and none was forthcoming.
I am putting in an official complaint and if my mum deteriorates I will hold them responsible
