I am on the waiting list for a hip replacement operation.
Because of a life style which involves several flights a year, I wanted to help the hospital and myself by agreeing the date of my operation.
Numerous calls to the consultant's secretary always resulted in the answering machine and my calls have not once been returned.
Then when I attended my pre-op day, I explained the situation and the seretary promised to get someone to contact me - nobody ever has.
My pre-op day was now over a month ago and I've had no contact from the hospital since then:
So today I have tried to contact 'admissions' - they don't even have an answering machine and all I can get is a recorded message that nobody can take my call.
So I called the consultant again and only got the secretary's answering machine.
They of course have not called me back.
"Slow to react and impossible to contact"
