"Eeg kids distractions"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital

My 9 yr old was having a sleep eeg. She was quite distressed about the unknown and the staff tried their best to calm her. However they tried to distract her with a mickey mouse toy, or the option of watching Balamory or Thomas the tank engine on tv. At this point I want to reiterate that my daughter is 9. I appreciate you don't have the funds to cater for every child, but surely staff can work out that these do not interest children of this age.

I am sorry that your daughter was so distressed and I am also sorry that the staff did not have anything more suitable to hand to distract her.

As you say, this may be a funding issue and I will bring it to the attention of the Hospital's Charity and the League of Friends.
