"Incredible treatment"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital / Neurosurgery

My wife and I live in Devon .On Sunday 21/08/2016 we set off to visit family in Wendover. 5 hours after arriving my wife fell ill and was transported by ambulance to HighWycombe Hospital who where excellent in treating what turned out to be a seizure. Three hours later we where transferred to Sir John Radcliffe hospital in an emergency dash. Immediately my wife received the best possible treatment, first into the high dependency room ,then emergency surgery ,and into the emergency unit . For 15 days she received the most incredible treatment. I was allowed to visit at any time and was always treated with the utmost care and compassion . My wife has been diagnosed with a glioblastom multi former which is a terminal condition. All the team at JR have shown the most exemplary understanding and consideration to my family, my daughter and grand children flew over from Florida. As a husband of 48 years I am devastated but the help I received will never be forgotten... My wife was transferred back to Exeter on Monday of this week and already we have had the first meeting with the oncologist, and the fact that all the information from

Oxford was forwarded to Exeter meant all could start immediately. I have dealt with to many individuals to mention everyone by name suffice to say that

Sir John Radcliffe hospital is without the top of the Premier League of medicine.

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide this feedback. We are so sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis, our thoughts are with you and your whole family.

We are extremely pleased to hear that your wife has received such great treatment at the John Radcliffe and that she and your family have been treated with such care and compassion, as we would expect from all of our staff. It is so important that our staff recognise when extra understanding and consideration is required, in such circumstances. Additionally, ensuring that continuation of care can go ahead without a hitch is highly important and it's really good to hear that everything was communicated with the team in Devon. Your comments will be passed on to the departments you have mentioned.

Thank you once again.
