About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

My wife was referred by our GP to Alton hospital for an X-ray and possible treatment for a possible broken foot.

We attended at 830 in the morning of 8th Sept and was advised to return to our GP for results. We were then referred to A*&E in Winchester for treatment and after waiting 3 hours we were advised to make an appointment in the next two weeks with the fracture clinic.! We complained and eventually obtained an appointment for five days later.

so even now we are no further forward. The system is disfunctional and would be better placed in a third world country.

Thank you for your feedback regarding our Emergency Department and Fracture Clinic. I am sorry that your visits have not met the high standards we aim to provide. I have informed the clinical leaders, however if your wife wishes to discuss her individual circumstances further please contact our Customer Care team on 01256 486766 or email customercare@hhft.nhs.uk
