"More a&e doctors , i accept ..."

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved

More a&e doctors , i accept it was a busy time, the patients that ambulances brought in were seen straight away....makes me think i would have been better letting them bring her in rather than me saving the nhs money by driving her in

Anything else?

Brought my wife in with severe head pains after referral from gp got there at 5pm went through triage by 530 left on a trolley next to nurses station for nearly an hour and three quarters and only then because i had become really angry that my wife was crying in pain because nobody had even been to us and offered any kind of explanation or pain relief i went to ask, i was told the doctor was really busy and would see her asap , then pain relief was given and her obs checked, she was taken into a cubicle just before the doctor saw her about 830

We appreciate that waiting is stressful and apologise for the delay. The triage system ensures that patients are treated according to assessed clinical priority; nevertheless we accept that it is important to explain what is happening and reassure patients accordingly.

We would be pleased to investigate the specific circumstances if the patient would like to contact us on 01924 212672
