"Hip Replacement"

About: Wansbeck Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

On the 30 August this year I arrived at Ward 15 to have a total hip replacement. To say I was terrified was Ian understatement!

I was immediately put at easy by the staff. An anesthetilst and my consultant came to see me, both reassured me that I would be fine and they would look after me.

They were right.

The service and care I have had from everyone has been amazing.

Nothing was too much bother and I was treated with dignity and respect throughout my stay by everyone. Well done everyone from Ward 15 - Theatre - the new Ward (only opened that morning with me as the first patient) and finally Ward 10 and thank you all for looking after me and for your kindness.

Dear Patricia,

How’re you doing? I hope you’re well rested and recovering nicely following your hip replacement.

It’s lovely to hear your anesthetist and consultant were able to be of such great emotional support to you during what must have been a very anxious time. I will pass your kind words to all of the staff who helped you throughout your time with us, I know it will be greatly received by all.

All the very best,

Annie
