I was admitted for blood transfusion after massive pv bleeding. During the build up I has attended a &e twice and had been seen on ward 62. Around 6am on the morning after my 2nd visit I rang to say I had had further heavy bleeding. I was told that as I had already been in they couldn't do anything for me so unless the blood was literally pouring from me not to worry. I continued almost continuously to suffer bleeding that consisted of large clots. As a result I was rushed in an ambulance, admitted to the ward and given 4 units of blood. I remained in hospital, continued to bleed and required a further 4 units. Initially I felt that it couldn't have been helped, however upon reflection it was bad enough that I needed transfusing once but twice shows a serious lack of care. I was given a hysterectomy to solve the problem and am happy with this but intend to place a further review on general care upon returning home.
